This expansion pack can be paired with other Settler Security scenario decks to add increase the types of training scenarios for security teams.
The pack includes two types of expansions: 30 wild cards and 20 complications.
WILD CARDS
These scenarios include extremely unlikely scenarios from the real world, like serial killers and invasions, to entirely fictional sci-fi and fantasy scenarios.
Though entertaining, there is a serious goal: to test the flexibility of your team and procedures. Goals are intentionally absent. Security work can be unpredictable. We can’t drill for every possible scenario. Is your team able to infer objectives, prioritize, and take action in a completely unexpected situation?
COMPLICATIONS
Complications add an additional hurdle or unexpected wrinkle to an existing scenario. They are packaged with the fantasy scenarios, but these are all real-life things that can go wrong, like broken radios and short-staffed teams. While they can be used with the Wild Card scenarios, but are designed for use with Residential or Business deck scenarios.
Unlike other decks which make sense for other stakeholders, these cards are designed specifically for operational security teams that spend time on training and drills and are looking for ways to mix it up. The business or legal implications of an alien invasion or broken radios (for example) will be of minimal interest to HOA boards or management teams, but are a useful way to practice flexible operational thinking.
